Anyone else writing through a head cold?

Day three of NyQuil prose. I cannot tell if what I wrote yesterday is genuinely interesting or if my brain is just operating at 60%.

Strangely, the slower pace has made me more patient with the scene I'm in. I'm not rushing to the next thing because I don't have the energy to. There might be something in that.

Anyone else find that being slightly impaired produces unexpected results in the draft?

Mild fever brain produced two of my best chapters last winter. There's something about not being able to second-guess fast enough.

I write better tired than rested. I think my internal editor needs at least 8 hours of sleep to wake up.

Drafted a whole novella on a long-haul flight last year. Eight hours of forced stillness + low-grade dehydration apparently = productivity. Don't recommend the chair though.
