Chapter Analysis

When you want a considered opinion, Chapter Analysis reads your chapter and reflects it back — what's working, where the pacing sags, how the dialogue and character work land. It runs in two passes: a quick chapter-level overview first, then, if you want it, a deeper paragraph-by-paragraph read. Because it uses AI, it confirms a token cost before it runs.
Chapter Analysis — overview and paragraph advice
- 1Open a chapter in Single chapter view, then choose Chapter Analysis from the Review menu.
- 2Run the analysis and confirm the cost in credits.
- 3Read the overview — strengths, pacing, character, and dialogue.
- 4Run the paragraph review for targeted, block-by-block notes.
- 5Click a paragraph to jump to it with its feedback highlighted.
Chapter Analysis needs one unambiguous chapter, so it is disabled in Continuous manuscript. Its Review-menu tooltip points you back to Single chapter.

Run the quick overview first — it's cheaper and often enough. Save the full paragraph pass for chapters you're actively polishing.
The story-world names it reads are used only to ground who and what is being referenced — it judges the prose on the page, not against your glossary, so a nickname or a deliberate variation is never marked wrong.
