Chapter Notes

Margin notes for your manuscript — pin a card to a paragraph and it stays there as you write.

Chapter Notes brings the Mind Map's cards right onto your chapter. Drop a sticky note in the margin and connect it to a specific paragraph — a reminder to fix a name, a query for your future self, a note for a beta reader. The notes stay glued to their paragraphs as the text moves, so they never drift out of context.

Chapter Notes — sticky notes beside the prose

Quick start
  1. 1Open Chapter Notes from the main toolbar (or press Ctrl N).
  2. 2Click the + Note button to add a card in the margin.
  3. 3Drag from a paragraph's edge onto the canvas to create a note linked to it.
  4. 4Write your note; it stays anchored to that paragraph as you edit.

How It Works

  • Notes are scoped to the current chapter and sit in the margins around your prose
  • Anchor a note to a specific paragraph, or connect notes to each other
  • Cards keep their place beside their paragraph as the text grows and shifts
  • The same styling as Mind Map — colours, titles, and connection lines
  • Toggle the notes layer off to return to a clean page any time
  • Chapter Notes works in Single chapter and Continuous manuscript; Split editor disables it and closes the notes canvas if it is already open

Chapter Notes is ideal for a revision pass — leave yourself a trail of "fix this" cards as you read, then work through them without breaking your flow.

Every great story starts with a single sentence.
