Mind Map
Cards and connections on an open canvas — the place for ideas that don't fit a grid yet.
Not every idea arrives in order. The Mind Map is a free canvas of cards you can place anywhere and link together — for tangled early thinking, theme webs, timeline sketches, or anything that wants room to breathe. Each card takes a title and formatted notes, and you draw relationships between them with styleable connection lines.
Mind Map — cards and connections
✦Quick start
- 1Open Mind Map from the Story menu (create a map on first use).
- 2Add a card, give it a title and notes, and drag it where you like.
- 3Drag from one card's edge to another to connect them.
- 4Click a connection to set its style, direction, colour, and label.
Cards & Connections
- Add colour-coded cards with an inline title and formatted body text
- Resize and drag cards freely on an infinite canvas
- Connect any two cards; lines route neatly around others as you move things
- Style each connection — solid or dashed, direction with arrowheads, colour, and a label
- Keep multiple maps per book for different threads of thought
Room to Work
- Zoom and pan across the whole canvas
- Go fullscreen for a big thinking session
- Dock the map to the left or right of your writing
- Pop it out into its own window to work beside your manuscript
