Search & Recall
Press Ctrl S to open Story Recall and find any line or name across every book in seconds.
When you half-remember a line, a character, or a place and just need to get to it, Story Recall is the answer. Press Ctrl S and a single search box opens over your whole project. It reads your manuscript prose and your entire Story World at once, ranks the best matches, and takes you straight there.
Story Recall — one search box over your whole project
✦Quick start
- 1Press Ctrl S (or click Search in the title bar) to open Story Recall.
- 2Type a line, a name, or a place — results appear as you type.
- 3Narrow with the filter chips (Manuscript, Characters, Places, and more) if you like.
- 4Press Enter or click a result to jump to it — a prose match scrolls to the exact paragraph and flashes it; a character or place opens its sheet.
What It Searches
- Manuscript prose — every paragraph, tagged with its book, chapter, and position
- Your Story World — characters, locations, factions, and items
- Scenes from Scene Designer, universe notes and idea cards, and your saved snippets
- The single best match gets its own "Top result" slot; everything else is grouped by kind with a count
Narrowing & Opening
- Inside a book, a scope button cycles This book → This universe → Everywhere
- Filter chips let you show only one kind of result at a time
- Matches are ranked by relevance, with the matched words highlighted in each result
- Clicking a prose result opens the book at that paragraph; clicking a character, place, faction, or item opens its profile sheet

Story Recall builds a private index of your project on your own machine the first time you sign in. If you open it moments after launching, you may briefly see "Indexing your project…" — it settles in a second, and searches everything from then on.
